What better month to be in the party mood than November? With one eye on Christmas & New Year, you have every excuse to indulge your love for sparkle, and to fan the flames until January. In the current economic climate frivolities are naturally curbed, but you can still look great this festive season by choosing & buying well.
Right now we’re all focusing on savings & you’ll be pleased to hear how easy this is to achieve when planning your Christmas wardrobe. Christmas is a season full of traditions, one of which is a colour palette of berry reds, luscious greens, whites, creams & black - teamed with a liberal sprinkling of glitz. We all have staples in our wardrobe which match this palette, and there are plenty of high street choices available to make up any shortfall.
Your complexion will change between now & Christmas, with your summer tan sadly fading, something to bear in mind when choosing colours. Think in terms of ‘shades’ – that strong red you can get away with now may wash you out in winter, so think about toning down to cranberry. And this season’s hot colour-combo of mustard and grey ticks all the right boxes: sophisticated, easy to wear and easy to match with your existing wardrobe.
The high street’s love affair with glitz in the workplace has sadly come to an end, but in party wear it’s still going strong, so you’ll find sequins, bows & embellishments everywhere. From a delicate touch to all over glamour, you can find the right piece for you.
If you prefer a more sophisticated look, tunic-style tops are still a great choice. Look for fine fabrics in up-to-the minute colours & team with dress-trousers for a floaty, sophisticated, G&T-sipping look. And what would Christmas be if we didn’t have access to sassy prom dresses, sexy wrap dresses & pretty sequined shrugs?
Ahhh….this is what your Christmas wardrobe is all about…
